I used to call myself fluffy, not fat. But it is what it is and I'm going to take this heaven sent gift to change my health, my life, and I'm going to run with it!

A Christmas Miracle
I tried on some jeans today at the store.......SIZE 12's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost bought them, but decided to wait......with 42 pounds to go, I don't want to have an assortment of sizes in the closet. I'll just get a belt. WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

OK, I just found your blog (I did a search for blogs by LPNs) and I'm intrigued...how are you losing your weight??????
I am doing a medical weight loss by the Fountain of Youth laser, skin and wt loss clinic in Ogden, Utah. It is a guaranteed wt loss program; weekly weigh ins, protein shakes, bars in place of 2 meals and snacks and one healthy low carb meal per day. It's learning how to eat more healthy once the "diet" ends and controlling portions. I exercise 3 times a week as well. I'm down 28 pounds since the 26th of September....from a size 16 to a 12 jean. And my goal is to lose another 42 pounds. It's a year long program that I actually was chosen for thru a contest in the local paper and it's at no cost to me. It's been life-changing..these folks there are awesome and really care about you. If you are here in the Ogden area, and need to lose some weight...this is the way to do it...the physicians teach a way very easy to understand how the body reacts to food, carbs, etc and how insulin levels affect the way we store fat, etc. It sheds a whole new light. I plan to never let myself get overweight again; I've learned a valuable lesson. Thanks for the interest! Best wishes and Merry Christmas! Rita
I feel so blessed to have been one of the chosen to participate in this weight loss program sponsored by the Fountain of Youth in So. Ogden. Sending that entry form from the Sunday paper and the subsequent phone call from them is forever changing my life. I will be able to ride my bike more easily; maybe even keep up with my husband on his. More importantly, I will be able to keep up with the grandkids and not be the one left behind on the playground or on the hiking trail. With diabetes and high blood pressure rampant in my family, it is high time to do something about my weight and to be given this most wonderful gift is truely heaven sent. So, watch me lose this coming year, a total of 70 pounds and be the person I once was. For many of you, I've only looked like this....but not for long!
I'm a married grandmother of 3 grandsons and one granddaughter. My job as a full time LPN in a busy family practice clinic, keeps me hopping when I'm not at home.
